To protect confidential data and guard against
unauthorized use, Fringe Facts Online features the latest in Internet security
and application intrusion technology. All data is accessed from secure, password-protected
servers. Sensitive data is encrypted to assure total privacy using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
technology - the standard for secure communications on the Web. BSI uses the strongest,
most advanced security available: 128/256 Bit Strong SSL Encryption. This is important
whenever private information is provided on the Internet and ensures the highest levels
of confidentiality.
BSI's dedicated Web servers are housed in the Impulse Advanced
Communications Data Center in Santa Barbara, California. The Data Center
is a highly reliable hosting environment, providing redundant
connections via multiple Tier I Internet backbones over diverse
carriers, each with redundant fiber feeds to the building. Their
network is dedicated to IP-specific traffic through multiple
state-of-the-art facilities with backup UPS and diesel generator power,
climate control systems, and video surveillance.
BSI has successfully completed a Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70 Type II audit.
The audit, considered the gold standard for service provider audits, was administered by
SAS 70 CPA, one of the nation’s leading SAS 70 auditing firms. The audit is an important
validation for clients subject to Sarbanes-Oxley and other reporting requirements.
The SAS 70 audit not only assures that an organization has controls in place, but tests
the effectiveness of those controls over a period of time.
BSI contracts with Plynt (a leading Application Penetration Testing company) to
identify any security vulnerabilities associated with our online service. The Plynt
certification evidences that Fringe Facts Online has passed various universally
recognized security checks. Plynt certification criteria gives BSI clients the assurance
that our systems are SB1386, SOX, SEC 17, and HIPAA compliant.
BSI has been a Better Business Bureau (BBB) Accredited business since May, 2004. The purpose
of the BBB is to act as a mutually trusted intermediary to resolve disputes, to facilitate
communication between a business and its customers, and to provide Reliability Reports on
companies that prospective customers may rely on to determine the quality of the business.
BSI is rated by the BBB as A+. A+ is the highest grade awarded to a business by the BBB.
